Thermowelding
Stronger adhesion of fabricCompared to conventional hand-gluing, Thermowelding (used on all Mercury PVC products) provides a number of distinct advantages, including:
- Clear appearance of boat
- Minimized wicking through the fabric yarn
- Multiple layers of PVC fabric are bonded by hot air at a specific melting point.
- Both edges of tube fabric are fed into the roller. Finishing tape is introduced over the seam in preparation for welding.
- Closing the tube seam is done by welding the seam tape over the center of both sides of the fabric.
- The seam is stronger than the fabric itself.
